Why hasn't it been updated
There are many factors to this.
As early as July, I tried to submit the 4.8.1 update, but it was rejected by google, I tried to contact customer service, and got a reply that they found out that my app allows users to cheat in the game, which violated them Device and Network Abuse and Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement.
At the same time, back in June, I started working on version 5.0, which was expected to be released on the play store as a new app. Because I'm going to rewrite the whole app, it's very difficult for me to maintain because of the immature code in the early days, especially when the game data is updated, my slight misuse can cause me to spend even hours cleaning up the endgame. And a lot of things in the 4.x version need to be refactored, for example, when a small memory device generates a world thumbnail, it is very likely to be stuck and crashed. If I refactor the code related to multi-language and world block processing, it will basically rewrite the entire app, so I'm going to overthrow the redo.
But in July, the rejection of the 4.8.1 update also meant that 4.x couldn't be updated, and 5.x couldn't be released. So I plan to distribute subsequent versions myself. Although the 5.x version has developed content close to the 4.x version, the completion is still not particularly high.
I added ads
It's really draining my passion for one thing for months on my own, and the app takes up a lot of my free time. There are even people taking my free app to make money for them, but I don't get any money out of it. So I've added some ads to motivate me to keep updating.
When will 1.4.4.x be supported
I was researching how to read and write files as soon as version 1.4.4 was released (but I also needed to spend some time playing Terraria with friends), currently the 5.x beta only supports character editing up to version 1.4.4.1 , and there are still bugs in character editing, which may cause save corruption.
However, automatic backup is now supported, and you only need to restore the backup when the save is damaged.
Only English and Chinese?
All translation work (except Chinese and English) is done by enthusiastic users. As I mentioned earlier, this is a completely rewritten version, so it is unlikely to directly reuse existing translations.
But one advantage of rewriting the app is that I separate the language of the app interface from the language of the game data, so that I can update the text of the game data more easily.
This also means that even if no one helps the app translate into your language, as long as the game contains your language, you can set in-game data text information such as item names in the app to your language.
Future distribution plans
Version 4.8 is still distributed in the Play Store, but the refactored version will be published in the Telegram channel.
When can I use the beta version
Might have to wait until October 1st or 2nd, because I'm busy and don't have time to code.
If you can speak English, then you can go to the Chinese version of the download page of this website to download the beta version first. That version includes English (excluding Chinese and languages other than English), but the advertisement is for Chinese users...
